Journey together: The road to CAA Atlantic

Our story with begins in the early 1900s, inspired by a shared dream between motorists from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Together, they embarked on a mission to make roads better for everyone, laying the foundation for a much larger club.

From a group to a company

In 1947, a significant moment unfolded at the Admiral Beatty Hotel, where our group in New Brunswick took a bold step forward, transforming from a group of dedicated people into a company. By uniting with our counterparts from Nova Scotia two years later, we created the Maritime Automobile Association, strengthening our motoring community even further.

Expanded services for our community

By 1972, our family expanded to include a travel agency, making the world more accessible to our members. The 1980s brought a new identity that resonated deeply with us: CAA Maritimes with groups from Prince Edward Island joining our organization. But our ambitions didn’t stop there. Venturing into insurance in the 1990s, we committed ourselves to protect families both on the road and at home. At the same time, CAA Travel became Canada’s premier choice for holiday planning and safety, illustrating the lengths we've gone to care for our community.

CAA Atlantic as we know it today

Finally, in 2009, our circle grew to include Newfoundland and Labrador, and that’s when we embraced the name CAA Atlantic.

This is not simply a story of expansion; it’s our history of ensuring safety and fostering connections in our communities, no matter where the road may lead us.

Our Board of Directors

At the heart of our commitment to excellence and service lies a group of dedicated individuals who bring a wealth of experience, insight, and diversity to our governance. Our Board members come from various backgrounds, yet they share a common goal: to ensure that CAA Atlantic operates with the utmost integrity, transparency, and ethical standards.
