Roadside Assistance FAQs

It depends on your CAA membership level. Rest assured that every level comes with peace of mind if your vehicle ever breaks down.

  1. Pull over. Get as far onto the right shoulder as you can while staying on level ground.
  2. Make sure drivers can see you. Turn on your hazard lights and put out safety cones if you have them.
  3. Stay with your vehicle. If you must get out, stay off the road and remain on the passenger side of your vehicle. Never stand behind or in front of your vehicle.

When you’re safe, visible, and back in your vehicle, call 1-800-222-4357 or request help online

  1. Describe the problem. Be as clear as possible. Is it a flat tire? An unusual noise? A wobble? The more you share, the better prepared the technician will be.
  2. Give a number you can be reached at. Yours or a passenger’s.
  3. Describe your location. Take note of landmarks that can help a CAA technician find you.

The more details you can provide the better. This will help our technician provide the best service possible

Stay with your vehicle. It’s best to stay inside with the doors locked. For your safety, avoid idling for too long with the windows closed.

It depends on your location. You may need to wait a little longer if you’re in a rural area, but you should be given an estimated time of arrival (ETA).

While you’re waiting, get familiar with your CAA membership level coverage and service billing options. Tip: Get a receipt if you need to pay for any services.

When the CAA technician arrives, please stay as calm as possible and answer any questions they ask.
