I have been in the travel industry for 25 years. I started with a locally owned cruise only agency. In the time I was there, I have cruised 22 times including Europe, Caribbean and River cruises. I have furthered my education by obtaining my CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) certification.
I have visited six of seven continents and enjoyed every one of my adventures. I love interacting with local cultures, and in doing so, I have climbed Machu Picchu in Peru and afterwards dined with a local family with a llama or two.
I have climbed the Great wall of China and had the privilege of a private Kung Fu lesson with Monks.
Drank cocktails and listened to music at Rick’s café in Casablanca, then climbed an Atlas Mountain to visit a Berber village for lunch. Had pasties and coffee at a sidewalk café in Paris, visited the home of Nessie the Loc Ness Monster in Scotland. Had my first Camel ride in Turkey and drank sweet apple tea from very tiny cups. Saw the Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London and had afternoon tea at Harrod’s.
In Australia, I have climbed the Sydney Bridge, snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef ending with a helicopter ride above it. That’s encouraging for someone who is terrified of heights and deep water. I cannot say I have overcome these fears, but I have learned to come out of my comfort zone to enjoy these adventures.
