Carrie Cussons

Member Biography

Carrie Cussons is President & CEO of Events East Group, with accountability for the leadership of the Halifax Convention Centre and the Scotiabank Centre.  She is a strategic leader across all areas of the business and previously served as Chief Financial Officer, leading Corporate Services including finance, human resources, and technology.  She brings more than two decades of executive management experience with a strong focus on financial and operational leadership. She has held senior roles in both the public and private sectors, including with the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation, the CCL Group, and Ernst and Young. A graduate of Acadia University, she is a CPA, CA and completed the Director’s Education Program through the Institute of Corporate Directors. In 2024, she was designated a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia. Carrie currently serves as Vice Chair of the CUA Board of Directors and is a member of the Women’s Leadership Collaborative and the International Women’s Forum of Canada.
